West Ham’s New Manager

Potter is confirmed as West Ham’s new manager.

Graham Potter, a former manager of Brighton and Chelsea, has been named as West Ham’s new manager.

The London team, which fired Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday after six months in command. Has signed the 49-year-old to a two-and-a-half-year contract.

With just six league victories under their belt. Potter takes over as the Hammers sit in 14th place in the Premier League, seven points above the relegation zone.

Since being fired by Chelsea in April 2023, this is his first managerial role.

“I am happy to be here. Potter told the club’s website, “It was vital to me that I waited until a job came along that. I thought was right for me. And equally that I was the correct fit for the club I am joining.”

That is how I feel about West Ham United. I have had very helpful and nice conversations with the board and the chairman.

“We both believe that building strong foundations that. Can lead to success requires a lot of effort and a lot of energy.

“And when it comes to what is required in. The immediate term and how we wish to advance the club in the medium to long term. We are in agreement.”

After Todd Boehly took over, Potter was Chelsea’s first manager.

But he was fired after less than seven months in command.

Potter made an impression at Brighton. Where the Blues paid more than £21 million in compensation after guiding the Seagulls to three consecutive. Premier League positions of 15th, 16th, and ninth.

In the 2023 January transfer window, Potter. Who had also managed at Ostersunds FK and Swansea City, oversaw a record £323 million investment at Stamford Bridge. However, success did not materialize, and he was fired after an 11th loss in 31 games.

Prior to Thomas Tuchel, his Chelsea predecessor, being named Gareth Southgate’s successor, he was also connected to the England position.

Potter claimed that club football was “more fulfilling” than managing an international team in an interview with the Telegraph.

Potter’s first job will be West Ham’s FA Cup third-round match against Aston Villa on Friday. On Tuesday, they will play Fulham at home in the Premier League.
