Van Nistelrooy’s smile restores faith in Leicester
The win for a grinning Ruud van Nistelrooy has already restored the “confidence” of Foxes supporters. Even though his Leicester team had to ride their luck against West Ham at times.
Steve Cooper, who was fired after just 12 Premier League games as Leicester’s manager. Was replaced by the Dutchman on Friday.
Alongside Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Van Nistelrooy saw his new team lose 4-1 to Brentford on Sunday.
However, the Foxes won 3-1 at King Power Stadium on Tuesday thanks to Jamie Vardy’s early strike. Making it the ideal start to his first game in command.
Van Nistelrooy, 48, stated, “In the end you look at the outcome and the three points. In the position that we are in, it is crucial.”
“We are aware of the Premier League’s caliber and realize that every game we play must be flawless. We must practice and improve our defense, counterattack, and possession.
“I am delighted with the three points, but there is still a lot to work on.”
With the victory, Leicester is now two points behind the Hammers in 15th place in the Premier League.
“I have been really busy getting to know everyone on my third day of work at the club. At a news conference held after the game, Van Nistelrooy stated, “Everyone was involved with that and helping. It was busy and hard days but worth it.”
“I was concentrating on the here and now. And I am going to have a beer today and think back on the past three days.”
“That trust and believe in the new manager and that is so crucial is what former. Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter claimed was the “ideal start” for the supporters.
He told Amazon Prime, “You can talk all you want. But if the players truly believe him and do what he says. Then it can be incredibly powerful.” “Winning football games is the best method to gain belief.”
Vardy maintains his goal total with the change coaches.
In Van Nistelrooy’s debut game as manager. Leicester’s Vardy scored after just 98 seconds, but goals from Patson Daka and Bilal El Khannouss sealed the win.
When Vardy scored 11 goals in a run for Leicester in 2015, he also beat Van Nistelrooy’s record for most Premier League goals scored in a row.
On Monday, Van Nistelrooy made light of it and claimed to have informed Vardy that they needed to resolve a “major issue” before they could begin working together.
“We had spent the entire day together. As you could see, part of it was rusty and some of it worked. After the victory on Tuesday, Vardy told Amazon Prime, “We have more time for the manager to get his thoughts across.”
Conor Coady, a defender for Leicester, went on: “The guys gave it their all. We are capable of playing better. The manager was the one who stood to gain the most.
“You have to go deeply, but the weekend was a horrible place. Although we still have a long way to go, this is a fantastic beginning.
In this game, West Ham had 31 shots, the most they have had since 2005–06.
Chelsea’s 2010 loss at Birmingham was the previous occasion an away team had more shots.
Niclas Fullkrug gave the visitors a consolation goal, but Coady cleared off the line from Crysencio Summerville, Jarrod Bowen missed multiple chances, and Danny Ings’ header struck the post.
Van Nistelrooy said Match of the Day, “I have seen the game and West Ham were dominant, but the result is what matters.”
“I believe that we won the game because of our perseverance, and we scored goals effectively. A wonderful evening.
“What a result this is for Ruud van Nistelrooy,” Paul Robinson, a former England goalkeeper, said on BBC Radio 5 Live. Before the game, we discussed how the Leicester team lacked ideas and confidence, but tonight, he drew a performance out of them.
However, Van Nistelrooy has a task to complete, and what he witnessed tonight would have delighted him much.
“He has changed significantly. His management and in-game replacements appear to be sound. It is encouraging for Leicester.
