Palestinian Authority leader tells UN “madness” cannot continue in Gaza and West Bank
President Mahmoud Abbas told the United Nations General Assembly that the whole world is responsible for what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank.
“Stop killing children and women, stop the genocide, stop sending weapons to Israel. This madness cannot continue. The entire world is responsible for what is happening to our people in Gaza and the West Bank,” Abbas said in his opening remarks.
Abbas said Gaza is now unrecognizable and called for the international community to impose sanctions on
Israel.
Abbas criticized the US for vetoing resolutions against Israel in the UN Security Council and for providing Israel with weapons that have been used to kill thousands of innocent civilians.
He went on to say: “Israel does not deserve to be a member of the United Nations and says it has not fulfilled the conditions for membership to the UN.”
