Japanese Media Says, Nikkan Sports, equates the Indonesian National Team with the Chinese National Team. Not only that, they also mentioned the gap in FIFA rankings between the Garuda Squad and the Japanese National Team.

at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUBGK), Jakarta. It is matchday five of Group C Round 3 of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian Zone.

Ahead of the match, Nikkan Sports tried to review the profile of the Indonesian National Team. There were quite a lot of things discussed by the media.

Interestingly, they equated the Indonesian National Team with their opponent on matchday one, the Chinese National Team,
after looking at the list of 27 names that were called. This is because the Red and White Team is strengthened by naturalized and descendant players.

“The Indonesian national team announced players, including former Cerezo Osaka, (Justin) Hubner, and other Dutch national team
age group players who will play against Japan on the 15th (November),” Nikkan Sports reviewed, quoted Wednesday (6/11/2024).

“Like China, they (the Indonesian national team) are trying to strengthen their national team by adding players who have
changed citizenship,” the review added.
